This is a serious piece of kit - well made and heavy duty for all domestic needs. Great service from the supplier, with good detailed information and impressive delivery, less than 24 hours after placing my order.

There is one small problem with the shredder in as much that the wheels are too narrow...it makes it difficult to move the machine over grass.

I purchased the Bosch AXT 25TC to replace my old shredder which had expired, mainly through getting repeatedly blocked and burning out the motor. It arrived neatly packaged and needs next to no assembly: simply pull the waste collection box out, remove the hopper and snap and tighten the hopper into place above the feed intake and you are ready to go. The Bosch works in basically the same way, i.e. a slower turning drum with sharp edges that cut the waste against a plate, rather that the fast spinning disc system. The drum is hollow and tapered in shape meaning it hardly ever gets clogged up, and the hopper down which you feed the waste is easily removable allowing easy access to the cutting mechanism in the unlikely event it does clog. It has a powerful motor which makes light work of all but the thickest garden cuttings. The cutting drum is adjustable enabling all waste to be crushed or chopped into little pieces. I adjusted mine to chop and it reduced the total waste from a tree and hedgerow into a neat pile of chippings ready to use as mulch around my garden. Very pleased with it.

Quite expensive but, though I have only used it once, it worked well except on the long strap-like leaves of a palm, which it fed through to the collection box uncut.

We researched this well and this definitely got the best reviews. As soon as it arrived we tried it out and it was great.....wish we’d got one years ago. Simple to use, efficient and quiet.

The Shredder works well, is uncomplicated to use and best of all relatively quiet by comparison to others I have used. Sorting out blockages of finer material is quite simple. However some twiggy material remains 4 or 5 inches long and passing it through twice does not reduce it more. The resulting material is I expect, going to make a very course sort of compost. I am a fan of Bosch Tools and this is a good addition to my kit.

It is better than nothing. It is not as good as our old BOSCH Shredder based on a screw. The ones with blades that spin round and round are completely useless. Next time we will be tempted to buy a petrol one. It takes several days to get used to operating a new BOSCH AXT 25C. So give it a chance!

The shredder is powerful and I like the fact that it separates into two parts for storage. The only criticism that I have is that there is nothing to get hold of to move it on its wheels so it is rather backbreaking bending down to hold the metal struts.

Shreds straight wood and twigs very well. I tried to shred pyracantha, has very hard stems which proved tricky as I had to cut them small to get in the hopper. Overall good piece of kit. Howe Toolshad the best price and excellent delivery.

First use and works well. Handled large and small material and chipped efficiently. Instruction manual is just images for assembly. Not a fan of that experience. Well built it appears. Not that easy to move around but easier to take material to it so not a major issue.

I looked at many reviews before deciding on the AXT25TC. The shredder was 'eating' trees that I had already cut down the day it was delivered. Probably not worth the cost if you have a basic, small garden but essential if a large garden with trees and shrubs as I have. Amazed by the power at the cutting blades as the motor does not even slow down when fed branches of 30-35mm diameter. Once the branch engages, the rest is just pulled in without the need to stand there feeding it. The collector does fill up quite quickly but have another container nearby like a dustbin or 'wheely' bin and its fine. Seems solidly built so should hopefully keep me going for a few years.

An excellent piece of kit! Easy to use, and the fact that you can remove the guide chute, and store it in the waste container when the machine is not in use, is a stroke of genius! Expensive, but value for money, because it does exactly what it claims to be capable of.

It's the real deal. We were concerned it might not be very powerful but how wrong we were. It's just perfect and so straight forward to use. My husband and I now fight over who gets to use it. It's a powerful beast. Don't hesitate. Buy it now.

It’s a bit early to say after just a few days use. I would have preferred a Bosch with a helical cutting blade (AC 2000 ?) but they don’t make them any more. This doesn’t seem to grab the cuttings and pull them in as well as I had hoped. Slightly noisy (compared to my parents helical blade shedder) but not too bad. Probably needs running in and some further adjustment.

Ensure you get the 25 TC model and not the older D model as the latter does not shred finely. This is the only electric shredder on the home-user market that has enough grunt to make it worth buying.

I needed a shredder to deal with the prunings from a large laurel hedge. This machine is powerful and rapidly dealt with all the cuttings and turned them into a course mulch. The material to be shredded needs to be fed in not too much at a time otherwise the machine is liable to clog up. The machine does not cope so well with soft garden waste such as weeds and performs best with small branches. It is reassuringly solid. My only criticism is that it is heavy and even though it has wheels it requires a degree of strength to move it around the garden..

The AXT 25 Turbo can seem expensive relative to the AXT Rapid 2200 and similar blade shredders at around half the price, but the difference is very significant. It is much much quieter, and not a noisy embarrassment that adds insult to injury by taking four times a long to eat twigs and relatively small branches. I am not convinced that AXT 25 can deal satisfactorily with thecclaimed 45mm branches because the chunks can jam between the blades, something that doesn’t happen with the AXT 25 D and the older quiet-shredder versions. On the other hand, with a bit of judicial use of the rammer, it copes better than the D with softer leafy cuttings and trimmings. If you aim to keep the branches down to 25mm to 30mm though and secateur out sharply angled branches such as one gets with pyrocanthas, it is very satisfying to operate, an almost irrestible force, It is reasonably quick to unclog by taking off th feed chute with much better access than the original older quiet shredder (which I still own although it is ”lent” out.) The caddy that fits underneath is brilliant, so easy to dump the shreddings into bags or wheely bins and great for storing the chute if you need to oark the shredder under a shelf. Be aware that the machine is an awkward beast to move when the chute is not fitted as it functions as a handle when rocking it back onto its wheels to avoid the frame scraping on the ground. I do not regret buying this machine, it chunters away, imploring you to feed it, a bit like Audrey in the little shop of horrors and has an insatiable appetite.

This eats through the prunings - it didn’t chew up the leaves very well until I tightened the blade and then it was really efficient at shredding these too - not too noisy- it’s even fun to use!

Great for most* woody material and copes with softer stuff if it's interspersed with the woody stems. * 'Chippy' loves things like leylandii, where the twigs are more or less in line with the branch and are flexible; when munching things where this is not the case, branches need to be pruned carefully in order to feed them into the machine. Works best when stems are fed in as vertically as possible, thickest end first. Fab machine!

We ordered the shredder last Friday and arrived on the Monday. We have just used it for the first time today, and already feel its paid for itself, compared to our old Bosch shredder which was noisy and kept clogging up. The design on this different model means we have just shredded several months worth of cuttings, we couldn't take to the dump due to lockdown. So none of it needs to go now, can all be composted or used as a mulch.

Much better than the Makita UD2500 that it replaced although it’s quite a bit more expensive. Does exactly what it’s supposed to with great ease. If your branch lopers can cut it the AXT25 will shred it.
