Temporary change to 8pm cut off: we’re swearing about the A14 roadworks as they are affecting our reliability. Read more
The current nightly closure of the A14 from 8pm is making the journey our tools take from the warehouse to the courier hub longer and slower, so we have had to make a temporary change to our next working day cut-off from 8:00pm to 7:30pm.
We did look at every option—even sending the Howe Tools van on a late-night dash to the depot—but unfortunately this is our only option. We’ll be reviewing it weekly.
Thanks for bearing with us, we’ll be back to 8pm as soon as possible.Read less
Chain mortisers, also known as spelt mortisers, are specialist carpentry tools that are used in timber framing, boat building and general carpentry. Chain mortisers are used to make square holes in pieces of wood, so that two pieces of wood can be joined. They operate in a similar fashion to a chainsaw, but the blade is kept straight and the end of the blade is plunged into the wood. Chain mortisers are typically able to plunge deep into wood, and cut relatively quickly.
