These plunge routers have a 1/4 inch collet, which is the smallest size collet we stock. As such, these plunge routers are designed for router cutters that perform more intricate and detailed routing work.


As well as impacting the router cutter than can be used, the size of the collet also tends to also impact the size of the plunge router. 1/4 inch collet plunger routers tend to be smaller in size and lighter in weight than models 1/2 inch collets.


These plunge routers are useful for cutting and shaping wood, laminate, plastics and formica. One benefit of a plunge router is that you do not have to start cutting at the edge of the material.
