Plunge router - 1/2" collet

Plunge routers with a 1/2 inch collet accept router cutters with a 1/2 inch shank. These 1/2 inch router cutters typically make larger cuts than those with 1/4 inch diameters.

Plunge routers are great for cutting wood, laminate, plastics and formica. Plunge routers are designed to cut down onto the top of the material, rather than to make cuts into it's edge.

• The key difference between plunge routers is the choice of collet which not only determines the shank size of the router cutter, it also determines the depth of cut. These plunge routers have the larger 1/2' collet

• Some plunge routers have a single speed whereas others have variable speed settings.
