The online power tool trade counter:

These 17mm A/F hex shank demolition hammers sit in the middle of the size range between the smaller SDS Max and larger 29mm A/F hex shank demolition hammers. This means that they balance size and performance.

Demolition hammers are designed to predominantly be used in a horizontal position, unlike our range of breakers.

  • The key consideration when choosing a demolition hammer is the shank size of the chisel or point bit. SDS max size is the latest technology but, in terms of shank size, is the entry level for demolition hammers. The A/F shank size bits are larger for heavier duty work. A/F refers to 'across flats' ie. the width across the hexagonal shank.
