Lovely little trim router, sort start, constant power and nice size, would be good to have a work light but at the price it's great. Usual makita quality.

I was going to buy the BOSCH GKF600 but having read reviews on both I decided to go for the MAKITA. Having now used it I have no regrets.

Although I do a lot of routering, I have limited use for a trimming router - so bought the mid-ranged Makita. Actually very impressed, good quality and ergonomic to use. Has a "soft start" and holds it speed well during cuts. The only down-side is my fault, as wish I'd bought the plunge and angle attachment as a complete kit as now could find more uses for it. Good addition to my workshop.

Very well manufactured router, the usual Makita high quality. A bit pricey for a small router and Makita are a bit stingy with what comes in the box. The router worked beautifully straight out of the box, nice and light, very controllable no histrionics, just how decent gear should behave. Not always the case. I suppose the old adage applies, "buy cheap, pay twice"

Perfect for my needs , routing binding channels on guitar body. Build quality excellent. Good to have variable speed. At the highest it does become fairly noisy, but I always use ear defenders so no big deal.

I haven't had a chance to use the router yet therefore I am unable to rate the performance, but the build quality and features are excellent. The router is heavier than it looks, again a sign of good build quality. So far, very happy with my purchase, usual makita quality and a 3 year warranty.

A very compact and solid little router. I cannot yet comment on its functioning. I am, however, rather disappointed that the only guide bush available is 10mm, which limits the cutters I can use for template guided work. A "Trend" universal base is not universal enough to fit this router, so I cannot use my existing trend guide bushes

I have a 1/2 inch round over bit to use with the product. But it slightly snags passing through the base plate. And I needed to file it slightly to allow it to pass.

Routers are feisty at the best of times, so variable speed is a great benefit at this price level and easy to handle. The depth gauge is toothed so once set and locked it doesn’t get knocked out. Good build quality married to light weight.

In all fairness is too early to comment and I have only had a test run on it looks okay and feels solid , the only thing about the purchase is that I wish I’d had some accessories with it because anything I need from the Cuter to other accessories you need to buy separately and I found it cheaper than what was suggested on the site .

Nice piece of kit, well made, only tried one cut up to now and all seems OK., One minor problem is the throat in the base plate is a bit narrow and prohibits the use of a larger diameter 1/4 shank router bit, I will make a new base plate with a larger diameter hole to allow the larger diameter bit to go through.

I already had a couple of larger cheap routers, which are OK but clumsy to use for door hinges, so decided to treat myself. Unlike other brands, I have never ever been dissapointed with a Makita purchase. The reviews of this tool were excellent so I went ahead. I have now used this tool vend profiling skirting ) and love the convenience of single handed operation. It is plenty powerful, and has precision, robust construction. A joy to use !

This is an excellent tool to mortice out hinges on doors and door frames.. You do however need a very steady hand as the cutter can grab and pull in to the wood...!!!
