An introduction to mitre saws: A mitre saw is a portable machine for making cross or, by rotating the tool's turntable, angle (known as mitre) cuts in wood. Mitre saws are used both in workshops & by onsite carpenters for window casings, architraving, door frames, picture frames etc. The wood is taken to the mitre saw rather than the machine being taken to the material as in a circular saw. The majority are mains powered but cordless versions do exist. Click here to see all our saws

To choose between mitre saws: The key criteria needed for choosing a mitre saw is the diameter of the blade to determine the width & depth of cut. Mitre saws with this 190mm diameter blade are the smallest available. Click here to see all our mitre saws

To make sure you've got the right mitre saw - 190mm blade: Choosing your power source: 240v tools are used with normal mains power whilst 110v tools are used on construction sites for safety reasons.

Only had the saw for a couple of days so a bit early for in depth comments. After delivery I spent a little while familiarising myself with all the adjustments & controls of the saw. Made minor adjustment to the kerf board and that was all that was required. Have tried out a few trial cuts & all seems fine so will have to wait for the next project to really test it out. I must say, it looks like a quality piece of kit & I'm very pleased with it so far. Comes with a good written instruction manual, not just pictures! Go on, treat yourself.

Awesome, precise tool. Only reason I gave it 4* is the slide...a bit notch.

Have done a lot of research about Mitre Saw's as am building a Geodesic Dome as a home to live in. As such need to cut many precise angles or errors are visible very quick. If you want a product that is designed at the professional user and affordable then Makita got it right with this product. Highly recommend!!
